Frequently asked questions

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance for our services. This allows us to keep our rates affordable. You can still use your insurance for medications, labs, imaging, and referrals outside the clinic.

Is DPC membership a good fit if I already have health insurance?

Yes. Many patients pair our membership with a high-deductible, catastrophic, or healthshare plan for coverage while relying on us for accessible, personalized primary care.

Do you offer discounted pricing for labs and imaging?

Yes. We provide access to significantly reduced cash prices for common labs and imaging through our partner networks. These rates are often lower than using insurance, and you are always free to choose where your testing is done.

Can I use my HSA or FSA for the membership?

Starting January 1, 2026, certain direct primary care memberships may be eligible for HSA reimbursement, up to federally set monthly limits. Our DPC plan is generally eligible. Patients should confirm with their HSA administrator or tax advisor. FSA accounts may be more restrictive so please check with your plan administrator.

Do you offer vaccines in the clinic?

We do not administer vaccines in our office, but we can provide referrals to local pharmacies, public health clinics, and pediatric providers who offer the full vaccination schedule.

Can Medicare patients join the membership?

Yes. Medicare patients are welcome to join. Our membership agreement includes the required Medicare opt-out language, confirming that neither you nor Avelia Medical will submit claims to Medicare for our services. You may continue to use Medicare for medications, labs, imaging, and any services received outside our clinic.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. DPC memberships are month-to-month. You can cancel anytime with a 30-day notice, which allows us to provide continuity and gives you time to transfer your care to another provider if needed.
